Sarah Murphy Madia is a journalist, editor and information integrity expert with nearly two decades of experience across print, broadcast and primarily digital media. Her work in the information integrity space focuses on investigative analysis into how dis- and misinformation spreads within social media ecosystems and how institutions, journalists and civil society can respond effectively.
A digital news native, Sarah was a member of the launch team for AJ+, the pioneering social-first news network created by Al Jazeera Media Network, where she later served as Europe editor.
In that role, she helped develop early editorial approaches for social video journalism – some of which continue to shape how news is produced and distributed on digital platforms today.
She has reported and produced digital coverage from around the world, including conflict zones and areas during humanitarian crises. She has also worked in the Brussels as a media trainer, an information integrity expert and Editor-in-Chief of Parliament Magazine.
Her reporting and digital coverage have appeared through organisations including Doctors Without Borders, Al Jazeera, AJ+ and The New Humanitarian.
