EU communication has a reputation for being boring, stuffed with jargon, obsessed with process and hardly cutting edge. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Jelle Annaars has worn many hats in the communication industry. Originally a copywriter and content marketer, Jelle fell into media training by chance. Asked to fill the shoes of a colleague who ran media trainings for Voice, Jelle never looked back and has hosted that same training session more than ten times since. In March 2016, Jelle was awarded an honourable mention in the Gouden Veer competition, which recognises best-practice in Belgian communication. He has also created copy for BNP Paribas and the European Parliament and was the first Copyblogger Certified Content Marketer in the Benelux. Jelle is excited about the future of a smarter media training industry and wants to help clients understand how they can use social media and blogs to advance their business. When he’s not conducting trainings himself, Jelle often finds himself attending trainings on media training.

Reposting your blog on LinkedIn and Medium is a no-brainer. Which is precisely the problem – it takes no brains.

Reposting your blog post to platforms like LinkedIn and Medium expands exposure for your ideas, company or whatever else you’re trying to promote, at almost zero added cost.

This is particularly the case on LinkedIn, where the algorithm almost certainly rewards rePosts over Shares to get more content into its rotting walled garden.

So why not do it?

We held our first open course on social media skills on October 8, with the Maastricht-based American media trainer Becky Castle Miller giving our 15 participants many useful tips on how to make the best professional use of Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and other social media channels.Becky talked participants through different strategies for creating and managing their social media tools, using examples of how – and how not – to communicate online. But more than that, she gave participants the keys to creating an individually-tailored Social Media Action Plan – how to set goals, formulate messages and analyse audiences properly. Read More
